The Gardon canyon, with its natural beauty and Mediterranean climate, is a jewel in the middle of a vast green forest full of oaks and magnificent cliffs. The deep blue water at the bottom of the canyon invites you for a swim.
For those who love adventure, the river can be taken by canoe or kayak. It is also possible to rock climb the cliffs of the canyon or hang glide over Uzès…
For those looking for freshness in the middle of a hot summer, numerous shaded trails are ready for you to hike or mountain bike on. Horse back riding is also an option on trails especially designed for horses in the middle of the luscious green forest.

Cultural heritage and History
The Hotel Le Castellas is the beginning of an adventure associating culture, history, and relaxation that will take you around the region. Just near the medieval village of Collias (7km) millions of people come every year to visit the Pont du Gard.
The simple beauty of the arched bridge and exceptional size of the monument have made the Pont du Gard, one of a kind. After 15 years of construction the roman aqueduct is not the only wonder built by the Romans. Over 50 kilometres of stone was also laid to feed the beautiful Fontaine de Nimes.
Moving north, the city of Uzés (7 km) welcomes all visitors with its most incredible monument: the ducal castle named, by its architect, the first duchess of France. Thanks to its magnificent architecture, it is a good summary of the history of France.
For those who prefer urban areas and are interested in art and history, the Palais des Papes in Avignon and its four huge towers is a treat for all. With over 20 rooms to discover in the castle, the gothic palace offers magnificent architecture, fresco paintings created by Matteo Giovannetti, as well as the private chambers of the Pope.
Let yourself get swept away by the History...
The Hotel Le Castellas will take care of the rest.
